Son of woman rescued from Cornwall lake thanks those who helped her

A woman who was rescued from a boating lake in Cornwall has been identified.

Police were called to Coronation Park in Helston in the early hours of Wednesday morning, after the woman was found in distress in the water by a member of the public.

She was taken to the Royal Cornwall Hospital where she is being treated for severe hypothermia. The woman, who is in her 70s, had no identification with her.

Officers have now identified her and spoken to her son who thanked members of the public for helping with the police appeal.
