Watch moment brazen thieves swipe bag from distracted Birdlip pub customer

Police have issued an urgent appeal after two women at a pub in Gloucestershire fell victim to distraction thefts.

Handbags belonging to the two victims - one of which was aged in her 90s - were stolen while they were at a pub in Birdlip.

The two incidents happened within an hour of each other on the afternoon of January 20.

Police have now released CCTV footage of two people they would like to speak to in connection with the thefts, which were carried out while the victims were distracted.

A woman aged in her 90s had been in a pub in Birdlip when her handbag was stolen while she was distracted and tending to her elderly partner.

Her large black leather handbag and some of its contents were of sentimental value and we are appealing for anyone who may have found it discarded to please contact police.

In a second incident, shortly before 2pm on the same day, a woman's back pack was taken from the back of her chair while in a café in Gloucester.
