Six teenagers arrested over attempted murder of boy in Plymouth

Six teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing in Plymouth.

A 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital with “multiple potentially life-threatening injuries’ after being stabbed near Whitleigh Footbridge, in Bodmin Road, on Friday (February 22) evening.

Six boys, all aged between 14 and 17, have since been arrested.

Three 15-year-olds and a boy aged 14 were released on police bail until March 20.

Two boys aged 16 and 17 were released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious assault in Plymouth.

The incident was reported to have taken place at around 9.20pm on Friday 22 February on Whitleigh Footbridge, Bodmin Road.

The victim, a 17-year-old boy, was reported to have been assaulted to the torso with a bladed weapon. He sustained multiple potentially life-threatening injuries and was taken to Derriford hospital where he remains in a stable condition. His next of kin have been informed.
