Seven-mile long queue on M4 after crash near Swindon

Hour-long delays and queues of more than seven miles have been reported following a collision on the M4 near Swindon.

Two lanes of the westbound carriageway were closed following a collision between junctions 16 and 17 for Toothill and Corston on Friday (March 1) afternoon.

According to Highways England, the incident has caused lengthy delays - with queuing traffic stretching as far back as junction 15 for Marlborough.

M4 westbound between junction 16 for Toothill and junction 17 for Corston, we have lane two and three closed due to a collision. Recovery is on route. Please take care on approach. At least an additional 60 minutes travel time though this section, back towards junction 15 for Marlborough, and seven miles of congestion.
