Teenager in hospital after car and lorry collide on A46 near Bath

A teenager is in hospital following a crash between a car and a lorry on the A46 near Bath.

The A46 was shut in both directions after emergency services were called just before 8am this morning (March 7).

One casualty, a 17-year-old man, was trapped inside a car and had to be cut free from the wreckage by firefighters using hydraulic cutting equipment.

Crews from Bath and Kingswood fire stations were called to a road traffic collision involving a HGV and a car.

On arrival, firefighters found one male casualty was trapped and crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to free him.

Once freed, he was handed to ambulance crews and conveyed to hospital.
