A fire has broken out at Chelson Meadow recycling centre in Plymouth.
Plumes of grey smoke can be seen for miles around.
Plymouth City Council says the centre, in the Cattedown area of the city, has been evacuated but nobody has been hurt.
Chelson Meadow is currently closed due to a fire in the refuse transfer station. No one has been hurt and the building has been evacuated. Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue are currently on site dealing with the fire. As a precaution, we have closed the recycling centre and the weighbridge to members of the public. Please use Weston Mill recycling centre instead. We’ll keep you updated on when we expect to re-open.
