Taunton station could undergo a multi-million pound transformation to include a new multi-storey car park, ticket office and entrance.
Great Western Railway and construction company John Sisk & Son have signed a final contract for the scheme which could begin next summer and be completed by spring 2020.
The plans include a multi-storey car park, a new ticket office, entrance and additional bike spaces.
There could also be an improved bus and taxi rank with easier access to the town centre.
It's hoped the regeneration would better serve people travelling to Taunton by train - the number heading to the town by rail is expected to double in the next decade.
Taunton Deane MP Rebecca Pow said she's "worked hard with stakeholders to secure the investment" and is "delighted" that work will be underway to coincide with the predicted increase in "passenger traffic".
