Reward to find Special Olympian's £3,000 bike after it was stolen in Barnstaple
A cash reward has been offered to anyone who can safely return Daniel Weston's racing bike.
The Special Olympian won a gold medal in Abu Dhabi earlier this year, and is due to race at the Great Britain Nationals in less than two months.
The bike, worth more than £3,000, was stolen from a garage.
Daniel has autism and lives independently. His family say his bike is a 'lifeline'.
Outside of racing, Daniel works as a chef in the Barnstaple Hotel.
His employers have offered £300 reward for the safe return of the bike.
We were shocked and saddened to hear of this awful news. We know this bike is everything to Daniel and know what it would mean to him for it to be safely returned.
A crowdfunding campaign has started on JustGiving to raise £3,500 to replace the racing bike, wheels and heart monitor.
This isn't just a bike, to Daniel this is his exercise, hobby, stress & anxiety management and sport which he loves. Daniel is distraught and extremely upset.
