A stretch of the M5 southbound between Gloucester and Cheltenham remains closed as police investigate following a fatal crash.
The route between junctions 10 and 11 has been closed to traffic since the early hours of Thursday morning (8 August).
It comes after a car was spotted down an embankment off the motorway just before 5:30am. Police attended and paramedics declared a man, believed to be the driver, dead at the scene.
Gloucestershire Police Force believe the initial crash happened "in the hours of darkness" late on Wednesday night.
Officers are appealing for any drivers who might have dash cam footage that could help the investigation to come forward.
It is believed the small silver hatchback joined the M5 at junction 4a and would have been travelling on the motorway between 10:30pm and 11:30pm on Wednesday night.
Nobody else was in the car.
Three lanes on the route remain closed, with delays ongoing.
A diversion is in place with drivers encouraged to take the solid circle on the A4019, A4013, and A40 before rejoining the M5 at junction 11.
