Make the most of today's weather because tomorrow is looking altogether wet and windy, with warnings in force from the Met Office.

A large area of low pressure is sweeping in, bringing the rain and strong winds, leaving blustery showers and a cool feel for the weekend.

It'll stay mostly dry for the rest of today with some sunshine and light winds. Cloud will steadily increase overnight as the weather system arrives but most places should stay dry until morning. Temperatures will drop to around 13 or 14 Celsius.

A dry start for some on Friday but it won't take long for the rain to move in. The rest of the day will then be wet with widespread, and at times heavy rain. Winds will strengthen too with 30-40 mph gusts. Temperatures will make it into the high teens so it won't feel as warm as today.

The weekend will stay windy with a fresh feel, and there will be scattered showers around. However, there are signs that next week could see some quieter weather arrive.
