A man from Wiltshire has been arrested after a six-vehicle crash on the A30 in Devon which has left a woman in a critical condition in hospital.
The man, in his 40s, is being held on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving following the crash on Wednesday 28 August.
Part of the A30 at Cheriton Bishop was closed for 10 hours while emergency services attended the scene.
A woman from Exeter, in her 30s, suffered multiple serious injuries after a lorry hit the central reservation and crashed into cars coming the other way between Cheriton Bishop and Tedburn St Mary.
She was airlifted to Derriford Hospital, where she remains in a “critical but stable” condition.
The arrested male sustained a serious leg injury in the crash and also remains in hospital.
