Protesters have staged a demonstration in Midsomer Norton, close to the home of North East Somerset MP Jacob Rees-Mogg.

Led by the Labour candidate for the area, the group gathered to protest plans to suspend parliament for five weeks from the middle of September until the middle of October.

We are like millions of people across the country absolutely incensed by what the Government has done. They've essentially shut down our democracy in order to get through Parliament something which they don't have a mandate for which is a no-deal Brexit.
