Seven people have been rescued and one taken to hospital following two suspected arson attacks in Yeovil.
Devon and Somerset Fire & Rescue service first responded to reports of a fire in a block of flats, where four people were thought to be trapped inside.
Three fire engines tackled the fire, with two people treated for smoke inhalation at the scene and one person taken to hospital.
First responders passed the investigation of the fire on to the police when it became apparent that it was started deliberately.
Some time later three engines responded to a different fire at another property in Yeovil, this time with three people trapped inside.
The front door was completely burned down by fire, and the living room destroyed with smoke.
Everyone in the property was rescued by the fire service and police were called to the scene, where the fire is also expected to have been started deliberately.
