A Dorset town centre was temporarily closed to traffic at the weekend - while residents staged a giant Hokey Cokey.

Hundreds of people took part in the dance in Dorchester’s High Street on Sunday (September 15), which was organised by local pub Tom Brown’s.

Customer Matthew Parkes came up with the idea, which first took place last year with about 150 people.

It is thought more than 500 people joined in this year’s event, which coincided with the town’s Heritage Open Day.
