Man jailed for throwing drugs over Erlestoke prison wall in Wiltshire

Bryant was arrested in the village of Erlestoke in March after officers stopped his car.

A Bristol man has been jailed for more than three years after throwing drugs, phones and tobacco into Erlestoke prison in Wiltshire.

Daniel Bryant pleaded guilty at Swindon Crown Court last month where he was sentenced for eight counts of bringing prohibited items into a prison.

Bryant was arrested in the village of Erlestoke in March after officers stopped his car.

After searching the 46-year-old's vehicle, they discovered several items which appeared to have be wrapped in preparation to throw over to inmates.

“We will not tolerate this kind of behaviour and will continue to work with the prison to disrupt the activity of those people who are intent on getting illegal items such as drugs, into the hands of inmates. “I am pleased that a custodial sentence has been given on this occasion.”
