A company that supplies parts to the Honda car plant in Swindon is set to close - putting more than 1,000 jobs at risk.
Honda Logistics Ltd - which is an affiliate of Honda UK - announced the decision on its website yesterday (October 7).
The company said Honda UK’s decision to close its main car plant and pull production out of Swindon by 2021 had made its business in the town unviable.
More than 1,200 people work for the Japanese-owned firm, with hundreds of these based in Swindon next to the manufacturing plant in South Marston.
A consultation has now begun into the future of Honda Logistics.
