British Museum's LGBTQ histories exhibition comes to Dorchester

A groundbreaking exhibition detailing the history of attitudes towards LGBTQ people has arrived in Dorchester.

The display reflects the experiences and lives of LGBTQ people from across the ages.

On tour from the British Museum, the display ranges from ancient history to the present day and includes artists such as Augusta Kaiser, Bhupen Khakar, and Otsuka Takashi.

The collection is based on Professor Richard Parkinson’s book, ‘A Little Gay History’.

With the support of the Dorset Foundation, the exhibition is on display at Shire Hall Historic Courthouse Museum from 21 September to 17 November.
