The M5 has reopened after the discovery of a body on the carriageway on Wednesday morning (Oct 30) closed a stretch of the M5.
Gloucestershire Police was alerted to the discovery around 4am on the motorway near Gloucester.
Around seven miles of the road was then closed in both directions between J12 for Quedgeley and J11A at Brockworth.
More than 12 hours after closing, the northbound carriageway re-opened alongside lanes 1 and 2 southbound.
Today (Oct 31) the remaining lane was reinstated and speed restrictions lifted.
Diversions were put in place while officers worked at the scene to establish the circumstances.
Gloucestershire Police is appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage from anyone who travelled southbound or northbound between junctions 11 and 12 between 3.45am and 4.20am.
