Elderly man robbed at knifepoint in own back garden in Plymouth

Police in Plymouth have issued an urgent appeal after an elderly man was robbed at knifepoint in broad daylight in his own back garden.

The victim was in the back garden of his Melrose Avenue property in Pennycross when he was suddenly approached by a man wielding a knife.

The offender, who is described as white, 5ft 10ins tall and of medium build, demanded money from the victim before fleeing on foot.

The incident happened at around 1.15pm on Tuesday, October 22.

The victim was in his back garden when he was approached by the male offender carrying a knife who demanded money from him.

There was a brief physical altercation between the pair before the offender ran off in the direction of Ham Drive.

The offender is described as a white male, 5ft 10in tall, of medium build with short, dark hair.

He was wearing a dark jacket with the hood up and dark trousers.
