A man has been knocked over a bridge onto a bank beside the A38 this morning (15 November).
The A38 Eastbound was closed temporarily while police and paramedics dealt with the incident. It has since been reopened.
It is understood that a pedestrian and a car collided on Merafield Road, Plympton, at around 10.15 am. The force of the collision is believed to have sent the man over the barrier of the bridge which goes over the A38.
He is thought to have rolled down the bank before coming to rest near the eastbound lane of the Devon Expressway.
Police say the pedestrian, a man in his 20s, has sustained serious leg, hand and facial injuries but his condition is not described as life-threatening.
