Driver left in critical condition after school coach crash in Cornwall

A school coach driver is in a critical condition after his vehicle crashed off a main road in Cornwall.

Two children on board the coach suffered minor injuries and were treated by paramedics at the scene - on the A3078 in the village of Tregony.

The 70-year-old driver of the coach was airlifted to the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro where he remains in a critical condition.

All 15 children on the coach attend The Roseland Academy - just a short distance from the scene of the accident.

Accident investigators and recovery teams spent several hours at the scene before the coach was removed at lunchtime.
