This weekend will be mixed, with Saturday mostly dry and bright, followed on Sunday by some wet and very windy weather. Met Office warnings are in force as we're looking at 60-70 mph gusts! It will be a mild few days at least.
A brief ridge of high pressure will bring a quiet day on Saturday but a deep low pressure system will move in overnight and through Sunday, bringing heavy rain and gales.
Remaining showers will soon clear this evening to leave a dry night with cloud breaks and brisk winds. Temperatures will be lower than last night though, with a few spots dipping to 6 Celsius.
Saturday should be a mostly dry day with a little more sunshine around but still a bit of cloud. The odd shower is possible across the moors of Devon and Cornwall, and it'll stay breezy with temperatures back into double figures by the afternoon.
Rain will move through overnight into Sunday, turning to frequent, scattered, heavy showers with hail and thunder. It'll be very windy too, especially through the afternoon, evening and overnight with 70 mph gusts around coasts and large waves for Cornwall and Devon.
Monday will be a brighter day with drier skies and lighter winds but another band of wind and rain will arrive by Tuesday.
