A much more settled few days to come with some long-awaited sunshine but it'll be colder, especially at night with some widespread frosts.
We've one more changeable day of weather to come but during the weekend we'll see high pressure take charge and stick around into next week.
There will still be a few heavy and blustery showers for the rest of today, some with a bit of hail and thunder mixed in. Plenty of sunshine between the showers but feeling colder than yesterday. It'll gradually turn drier through this evening leaving a dry and clear night with light winds. Temperatures will fall widely around freezing, below in places, so it'll be a frosty start on Saturday.
A dry start to the weekend too, with lots of crisp winter sunshine and light winds throughout the day. It'll be cold though with temperatures barely making double figures. The Isles of Scilly may hold onto cloudier skies with the outside chance of a shower.
Sunday will be a similar day with a frosty start followed by virtually unbroken sunshine and highs around 8 or 9 Celsius. High pressure will last into next week too but we'll probably see cloud amounts increasing day on day.
