Residents evacuated as wall collapses at former pub building in Tavistock

Fire crews were called to Tavistock in the early hours of Thursday morning after the wall of a former pub building collapsed.

Residents were evacuated from nearby homes and a cordon was set up following the incident at the old Ordulph Arms in Pym Street.

In a later update, the fire service said everybody was accounted for.

I came in to work this morning at 7.45am to find tape across the road. I asked the police what happened and if we could open our shop. Other people were asked to leave their flats at 2am.
