A watch belonging to a missing man from Trowbridge has been found by his father on the island of Ibiza.

Ben Garland failed to return from a motorbike ride during a storm on the Spanish island last week.

His motorbike and other belongings were found a few days later and his dad, Mark, has now recovered the watch after searching the spot where Ben filmed his last Instagram video.

Police are on scene now searching the area again where the watch was found.

Ben's family flew out to Ibiza after the 25 year-old disappeared and immediately joined the emergency services in scouring the island for his body.

It is believed that Mr Garland was part of a boat crew which had docked and he had then gone on a tour of the island on Tuesday (21 January).

Mr Garland was reported missing by his fellow crew members after he failed to return and as storms lashed the Balearic islands.

The Foreign Office said it is also assisting his family and is in contact with the Spanish authorities.

In one of several Facebook updates, Mark Garland thanked the many dedicated volunteers for "working tirelessly to find our Ben."

He added: "keep praying we find our Ben soon".

A JustGiving page which was established to help fund the search for Ben has so far raised almost £6,000.
