Grandmother pays tribute to Liskeard stab victim: Damien 'didn't deserve to have his life ended before it had started'

The grandmother of a young stabbing victim in Cornwall has paid him tribute saying he "didn't deserve to have his life ended before it had even started".

Damien Bendelow died early on Sunday morning, 26 January 2020, after being stabbed near a car park in Liskeard. His grandmother Elaine Bendelow left a heartfelt message on Facebook.

Police were called to the Cattle Market Car Park in Liskeard just before 1am on Sunday 26 January following reports of a serious assault.

They found Damien Bendelow suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was taken to Derriford hospital but was pronounced dead.

A 45-year-old man from Liskeard was arrested on Sunday afternoon on suspicion of murder. The weapon has not been found.

Police issued the following statement on Sunday after making the arrest.

A fundraising site has been set up for the family in memory of Damien.
