A Dartmoor pony sanctuary that had to close last year is to re-open next month.

The Miniature Pony Centre near Moretonhampstead, which closed in October, has been bought by a new owner.

Staff made the announcement on Facebook, saying they are 'incredibly lucky and excited to re-open'.

The centre welcomed around 35,000 visitors every season before it closed towards the end of October last year.

It was put on the market in 2018 for £1.7 million but after failing to find a buyer the family owners made the 'extremely difficult decision' to call it a day.
