Police in Gloucestershire have reported a recent spate of poaching incidents in the Cotswolds.
The Rural Crime Team released a series of graphic images on Twitter of dead deer which had been found on land close to Sapperton, Calmsden, and Cheerington.
Six separate poaching incidents in the past few weeks. Deer shot in the jaw, shot in the neck and all still alive.
In a couple of the pictured incidents the carcass had been removed by the poachers, leaving the animal's severed head remained on the ground.
The police have issued an appeal for anyone who has "been offered venison recently", or with any information to come forward anonymously via 101.
