Ten people have been arrested following a suspected weapons incident in Gloucester.

Armed police responded to concerned residents' calls about 'men with knives and other weapons' last night [Sunday 24 May].

Gloucestershire Police were called to the Tredworth area of the city just after 6.30pm.

Of the ten arrested, four were teenage boys aged between 15 and 17, from Stroud and Gloucester.

The other six men arrested are all from Gloucester and aged between 18 and 21.

They will all be interviewed today as officers conduct house to house enquiries and reassurance patrols in the area.

The incident is thought to be isolated, and police say they are taking 'all possible action' to keep local residents safe.

This appears to be an incident involving two specific groups of males and we do not believe that there is a risk to the wider community.
