A number of Black Lives Matter protests and marches are set to take place across the West Country this weekend.

Those taking part in protests are encouraged to wear a mask, and social distance as much as possible.

This week has seen Worldwide protests following the death of George Floyd at the hands of police in America.

Here are the protests planned in the West Country over the weekend.

Those planning to attend are urged to wear a mask, socially distance themselves from others as much as possibe, and use hand sanitiser.

SATURDAY, 6 JUNE

  • Gloucester, Gloucester Park, 12pm.

  • Swindon, Regent Circus, 1pm

  • Weston-super-Mare, outside Tropicana 2pm

SUNDAY, 7 JUNE

  • Bristol, College Green, 2pm

  • Plymouth, Jigsaw Park, 2pm

MONDAY, 8 JUNE

  • Cheltenham, Pitville Park, 2pm

In a statement from Avon and Somerset Police speaking about the demonstration planned in Bristol on Sunday 7 June, Superintendent Andy Bennett said although protests are a breach of current restrictions, they are justified.
