A father has died after getting into difficulty whilst swimming in the sea with his young son off the coast of Cornwall.
Falmouth Coastguard confirmed that the man's body had been recovered from the water at Porthcurno on Thursday afternoon (June 25).
Police confirmed that the man's son survived.
Cornwall Air Ambulance, Devon and Cornwall Police, and the RNL lifeboat all attended the scene. Several land ambulances were also spotted in the area.
The man, who was not local, was treated for cardiac arrest but did not survive.
He went into the water with his young son and sadly didn’t come out alive.
A force incident manager said:
His family is now aware. He was pronounced deceased at the scene and wasn’t from the area. He went into the water with his young son and sadly didn’t come out alive.
