A3052 Devon crash: Serious collision in Sidmouth sees three taken to hospital

Three pensioners were taken to hospital after a serious crash in Sidmouth, prompting a police appeal for witnesses.

Devon and Cornwall Police have today (December 6) issued an appeal for witnesses after a collision on the A3052 on Friday (December 3).

The incident happened at around 2.30pm and involved a black Renault Clio and a blue VW Exclusive.

The driver and passenger of the Clio - a man and woman in their 80s - were taken to hospital. The man suffered serious injuries while the woman's were less serious.

The driver of the other car - a man in his 70s - was taken to hospital with less serious injuries.

The road was closed for eight hours while investigations were carried out at the scene.

A police spokesperson said: "Officers are appealing for witnesses and would also like to hear from anyone with dashcam footage that could assist with enquiries."
