Young woman sexually assaulted in Falmouth car park - police issue appeal

Police are investigating after a young woman was sexually assaulted in Falmouth.

The 21-year-old was targeted in a car park in Church Street, behind the Ship to Shore Tattoo shop.

It happened in the early hours of Sunday morning (December 5).

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said the victim is being supported by specialist officers.

The force has appealed for witnesses, or nearby businesses with CCTV, to come forward.

"Police are appealing for information following the sexual assault of a 21 year old female,” the spokesperson said.

"The incident happened between 1am and 1.25am on Sunday on Church Street opposite Club International.

"The female victim was approached by an unknown male and subjected to a sexual assault in the car park at the rear of Ship to Shore Tattoo.

"The victim is being supported by family and a specially trained police officer

"Officers are appealing for witnesses or anybody with CCTV in this area to come forward. Enquiries are on-going."
