M5 motorway reopens after woman suffers life-threatening injuries in overnight crash

A woman suffered life-threatening injuries after a serious crash near Exeter that closed the M5 for around eight hours.
The motorway was shut southbound between junctions 30 and 31 following a "multi-vehicle" collision involving two cars.
It was closed from 9pm on December 12 until 5am on December 13 while emergency services treated the drivers.
The female driver of a Vauxhall Corsa was airlifted to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the other car - a BMW - suffered only minor injuries.
Devon and Cornwall Police has since issued an appeal for witnesses.
