A couple from Bristol took their romance to new heights today, when they got married in Somerset on a high wire.
The bridegroom is traditionally left hanging around but this was taking things to extremes. 80 feet above the ground professional tight rope Chris Bull waited for Phoebe Baker to join him. She met him when she was making him a costume, they fell in love. He trained Phoebe to walk the ropes but never thought she'd join him in Britain's first ever high wire wedding.
Chris, who lives with Phoebe in an original 1930s showman's caravan in Hanham in Bristol said: "I've been a rope walker for 12 years and it was something I'd always dreamt of.
"I never thought I'd find a wife to agree but I proposed to Phoebe in Burma and one of the first conversations we had about it was me saying how cool it would be to get married on a high wire."
This afternoon that dream came true. They said 'I do' over the heads of around 100 friends and family watching from the ground at Wookey Hole
The UK's first ever high wire wedding takes place in Somerset later.
Professional rope walker Chris Bull will marry Phoebe Baker 25 metres in the air at Wookey Hole.
Starting from opposite ends of a 75 metre-long high-wire, the couple will meet in the middle and say 'I do'.
An ordained ringmaster will conduct the ceremony by megaphone from the ground.
