BA flights: 'near normal' schedule at Newquay Airport after global IT meltdown

Credit: ITV News

A "near normal" British Airways flights schedule is expected to operate at Newquay Airport today.

It's after a global IT system failure yesterday caused chaos for many Bank Holiday travellers - all flights from Heathrow and Gatwick were grounded, and locally check-in was taking far longer than usual.

People are being advised not to go to any airports unless they have a confirmed booking for travel today.

People heading to Newquay Airport are being advised that check-in is taking much longer than usual.

This is due to technical problems affecting many British Airways flights - which has grounded all flights from Heathrow and Gatwick before 6pm because of a "major IT system failure".

Some flights are taking longer than normal to reach their gates.

Passengers are advised to check with operator before travelling.
