Residents in Clevedon no longer have to boil their water before using it after Bristol Water lifted its health notice.
The notice was put in place on Thursday after part of the town's water supply was found to be contaminated.
Bristol Water says it detected the parasite cryptosporidium, which can cause vomiting and diarrhoea.
It says the drinking water supply to Clevedon is now coming from other treatment works.
Over the last few days, we have been taking samples from the treated water storage reservoir in Clevedon and at customers’ houses. No Cryptosporidium has been detected in any of these samples. We have also fully flushed the water network in the area meaning the network now has a fresh supply from other sources.
Consequently, following consultation and advice from Public Health England, we are now lifting the precautionary boil water notice.

Bristol Water has completed a door drop and all properties affected have now received a boil notice card.
Bristol Water says, “From 5pm on Thursday we had over 50 employee volunteers door dropping notices to 7000 properties affected. We want to thank our volunteers, and the supportive response we are getting from the community. We want to highlight that this is a precautionary measure and we work along side Public Health England to follow procedures to ensure the safety of our customers”.
Bristol Water is now continuing to work with Public Health England and the Drinking Water Inspectorate (DWI) in order to remove the boil notice as soon as possible.
Samples are taken and tested from the water source over the weekend.
Only once these are confirmed as negative and Bristol Water complete flushing the network will we be able to lift the boil notice.
Bristol Water is aiming to be in a position to confirm the boil notice removal on Monday morning, before customers start their morning routines. This is subject to the results of the Sunday afternoon sample and PHE approval.
In the meantime customers are urged to continue to boil water and follow usage guidance over the weekend.

The notice is likely to be in place for at least 48 hours but those customers affected will be informed directly when the boil notices is removed.
One test result from the raw water quality samples taken at Clevedon treatment works detected Cryptosporidrum.
Therefore, the advice to boil the water is a precaution.
Bristol Water staff will be hand delivering notices to properties affected by the notice.
As part of their customer promise compensation will automatically be paid to those customers affected after the event.
We would remind people in the affected areas to follow the advice from Bristol Water and boil their drinking water and allow to cool before use. The levels of Cryptosporidium detected in the water supply is low and the advice to boil the water is as a precaution. If people feel unwell or experience symptoms of diarrhoea and vomiting they should contact NHS 111. If your symptoms become severe, you should contact your GP.

Bristol Water has set up a water supply point at Bedminster Down Common, opposite South Bristol Crematorium. Customers are being asked to bring suitable, clean water containers.
The burst has been located on the A38 between the Kings Head and the Town and Country Club. Engineers are working to fix the problem.
