Cracks appear in Wiltshire church

People living in a street in Swindon say they're concerned after huge cracks have started appearing in an old church.

They believe the cracks are being caused by the ongoing work to the Regent Circus scheme.

The developers say they're doing everything they can. Meanwhile the area's MP has called a meeting.

Robert Murphy reports:-

Arson at a Blandford Church

Police in Blandford are investigating after fires were started inside a church in the town.

It happened during the night of Saturday 14th September at the chapel in Blandford Cemetery on Salisbury Road.

Those responsible forced entry to the church and started three separate fires inside before making their escape.

I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this arson take place, or may have information about those responsible to contact us on the non-emergency number 101.

The blaze has caused significant damage to the chapel and will no doubt have caused great inconvenience to the local community.

I am also appealing to the public for information regarding an attempted theft of petrol from a Ford Transit van at around 9.50am on Sunday 15 September 2013 which we believe to be linked to this fire.
