Cyclist dies after Failand crash

A cyclist has died after a road accident near Bristol. The man in his 40s collided with an oil tanker on Horse Race Lane in Failand yesterday morning.

He was airlifted to Frenchay Hospital but died of his injuries earlier today. Police are appealing for witnesses to the crash to come forward.

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses following the death of a cyclist in Bridgwater.

The 27-year-old cyclist from the Bridgwater area was involved in a collision with a lorry in Bath Road, near the Morrison's distribution centre, at about 3.15pm on Friday.

He was taken by air ambulance to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol with multiple life threatening injuries, but died later.

The lorry driver was arrested and released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident is asked to contact the collision investigation unit on the force's 101 number.
