Why 300 blue-robed bards are in Launceston this weekend

Cornwall's language, music and literature is being celebrated this weekend with an annual festival of culture.

It culminated in the gathering of around three hundred Bards at the annual Gorsedd. The ceremony was held in the grounds of the ruins of Launceston Castle which it's said was once the home of the King of Cornwall.

Nine new bards were invested with the honour of joining the Gorsedd, including singer Jon Cleave from Fishermen's Friends, and Russell Pearce, all the way from San Francisco.
