A lorry driver found himself in a tight squeeze in Swindon as he realised too late he had miscalculated the height of his truck.

The red-faced driver was forced to leave his lorry part wedged under a 14ft bridge on Wootton Bassett Road, which resulted in a temporary closure of the A3102. The road is now open.

M4 eastbound open after lorry fire

The M4 eastbound is now open at the Second Severn Crossing but the westbound remains closed after a lorry fire.

Emergency services were called to a hay lorry on fire close to the tolls at around 12:50pm. No one was injured, but the road has been closed on safety ground due to the amount of smoke.
