A woman has died after she fell into the atrium of Southmead Hospital.
It is thought the woman, who was not a patient of the hospital, took her own life in the new Brunel building on Sunday morning.
Police confirmed officers were in attendance but said it is against their policy to reveal further details.
North Bristol NHS Trust, which run Southmead Hospital, say they are carrying out a risk assessment in response to the death.
We can confirm that unfortunately a woman died.
The Trust is supporting staff and patients with help from the hospital's chaplaincy team.
