The coastal path above West Bay has re-opened a month after a major cliff fall.

Part of the South West Coastal path collapsed onto the beach at the end of June, with thousands of tonnes of rubble falling down to sea-level.

Dorset County Council has created a new path through the golf course. They're urging walkers to be extra careful.

“Landslides and rock falls can, and do, happen at any time. The Jurassic Coast is a wonderful place to visit, but it’s important to use common sense and always pay attention to warning signs and safety messages.”

Aerial footage shows scale of West Bay cliff collapse

There are renewed warnings about the dangers of our coastline after a cliff fall in Dorset, close to where a woman was killed in a similar collapse four years ago.

Hundreds of tonnes of rock fell onto the beach at West Bay - its the third collapse in the region this winter. No one is believed to have been hurt but the area remains closed.

Our Environment Correspondent Duncan Sleightholme used an aerial filming device to capture this amazing footage which shows the scale of the cliff collapse.
