Former post-mistress fined £22,000

A former village sub-postmistress who stole from the takings when she was struggling to keep her shop going is to have £22,331 confiscated from her. At Gloucester Crown Court Judge Jamie Tabor QC certified that Patricia Graham of Whitecroft near Lydney, had benefited from crime by that amount.

He also ruled that she has the full amount available for confiscation under the Proceeds of Crime Act.Judge Tabor ruled that she must pay the full £22,331 within six months or she will be jailed for a year in default.He also ordered her to pay £1,000 prosecution costs.
