Nurse suspended for mistaking blood for jam
A Swindon nurse who mistakenly thought that blood around a patient's mouth was jam has been suspended.
The error was one of 29 charges considered against Denise Reed by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
It heard that Mrs Reed was "impaired by lack of competence" whilst working at Swindon's Great Western Hospital between 2009 and 2010. She has been suspended for 12 months.
