£200m 'growth deals' for South West businesses and councils

The Government has announced around £200 million for businesses and councils across the South West. The so-called "growth deals" are intended to trigger other investment in transport, training and hi-tech industries.

Huge investment announced in the South West

The Deputy Prime Minister will be in Cornwall today to announce details of a £200 million investment scheme in the South West.

The money from the Growth Deals initiative will spent by local enterprise projects on schemes as wide as investment in training at the new Hinkley Point power station in Somerset and improvements to the A38.
