A man is being treated for life threatening injuries after he had acid thrown in his face in Truro.
He was attacked in his home on Carrine Road yesterday afternoon.
Police say he's now in a critical condition at the Royal Cornwall Hospital.
Detectives want to talk to the driver of red Peugeot van seen in the area around the time of the incident.
David Burchell, 83, said: "I was very surprised when I heard something like this had happened on our street.
"It's usually very quiet around here. We're still not entirely sure what happened, but as far as we are aware someone through a chemical in someone's face, just down the road."
