Jury in fraud trial of Shelterbox founder fail to reach verdict

The jury in the trial of Shelterbox founder Tom Henderson and his son John have been discharged after failing to reach a verdict. The 65-year-old from Helston was accused of securing lucrative contracts for his son to help him buy a new house.

The jury has been sent out in the trial of the founder of Cornish aid charity Shelterbox.

Tom Henderson (seen above on the left) is accused of awarding contracts for camping and survival equipment to his son's firm.

Tom and John Henderson both deny conspiracy to defraud, as does a third man Darren Gervis, from Beaminster in Dorset, who's accused of trying to hide the details from trustees.
