Over 16 thousand homes are now without power across Cornwall and Devon after Storm Imogen batters the south west.
Western Power teams have worked all through the morning to restore supplies to hundreds of homes.
Earlier in the day four thousand homes were without power.
Some of our customers are currently experiencing power supply problems following high wind which has damaged some of our overhead power equipment.
Forward planning, following advanced Met Office weather predictions, means that our operational depots have been open from first light and we also have in place additional operational and engineering staff, and extra Contact Centre staff available to take customer calls.
Where weather has permitted, our Helicopter Unit has also been on hand to further pinpoint damage caused to our overhead network and to help speed up repairs and power restoration times.
Hundreds of homes are still without power across Devon and Cornwall as power companies work to fix supplies.
At its highest the number of homes without power across Devon and Cornwall topped 16,000 but slowly properties are able to switch on again.
