Thousands of West doctors walk out for 48 hours over contracts row

Thousands of junior doctors across England have joined a 48-hour strike as their row with the government over new contracts continues.

Junior doctors will provide emergency care only from 8am today and tomorrow, with two further 48-hour strikes planned in April.

The strikes have led to the cancellation of hundreds of operations and procedures.
